Desert Rhino Camp

Desert Rhino Camp

Desert Rhino Camp, all about the rhino

The purpose of Desert Rhino Camp is the conservation of Damaraland black rhinoceroses. To achieve this, the camp welcomes its guests into 6 luxury Meru-style tents (including one family tent) raised on platforms, offering all modern comforts in a safari style and breathtaking views of the desert and the Etendeka mountains. Desert Rhino Camp is a brilliant initiative born from the collaboration between the Wilderness Safaris group and an'NGO "Save the Rhino Trust". Former poachers and members of the local community have been trained over the years in the conservation of black rhinos (an endangered species coveted for the supposed magical properties of their horns). Guests are invited to share the experience of conserving this species and discover the moonscapes of the Palmwag private concession. The presence of fresh water sources enables the coexistence of large mammals such as rhinoceroses of course, but also elephants, mountain zebras, giraffes, oryxes, springboks, kudus, and consequently their cohort of predators such as lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas, enough to spice up your stay.

NB: Children accepted from 6 years of age.
