    ETHICS

    Belmond La Residencia It uses renewable energy, recycles its waste and uses compost; it has reduced its use of plastic bottles by 70% in favour of reusable stainless steel bottles; it favours eco-friendly cleaning products; and it treats its swimming pools with salt instead of chlorine. The hotel also produces its own olive oil and has its own organic vegetable garden. Guests can «adopt» an olive tree to help with the restoration of olive groves. The hotel supports local artists through a biennial award and by providing exhibition spaces, and supports local sports and cultural organisations.
