    History, nature & traditions

    Situated on a small hill surrounded by vineyards, in the village of Alaior, 15 minutes from Port Mahon, Torralbenc is bathed by the azure of the Mediterranean Sea. This former traditional Menorcan farmhouse was built with respect for the region's heritage and archaeological wealth: the surrounding ruins give the place a historic appeal for exploring the superb southern coast of the island of Menorca. Centred around old buildings once dedicated to livestock farming and agriculture, Torralbenc remains deeply imbued with its past, both architecturally and environmentally. All the charm of Menorca is reflected in the hotel's 27 rooms, where subtle aromas of rosemary prevail and the decor blends limestone, fine woods and natural fabrics in white and earth tones. At the restaurant, Chef Luis Loza creates his Mediterranean menu using seasonal produce from the island's local producers. The estate's wines, from vineyards replanted since 2016, perfectly accompany the traditional flavours on the menu. Well-being is not overlooked at Torralbenc, where you will discover beauty rituals and treatments based on Mediterranean essences, promising a perfect balance between body and mind.

    THE EXTRAORDINARY

    Thanks to its tireless efforts, Torralbenc has been able to restore its land, which had not been cultivated for 30 years, to resume wine production and open the Torralbenc Winery. Following several phases of planting, the estate now comprises 14 hectares of vineyards with seven grape varieties, which guests are invited to discover: Merlot, Syrah, Monastrell, Parellada, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier and Chardonnay.

    ETHICS

    Torralbenc blends harmoniously into the landscape, thanks to its agricultural heritage, its natural building materials and the vegetation planted to minimise the hotel’s visual impact. The former farm optimises its waste management through a recycling scheme and a commitment to gradually phasing out all single-use plastics. Torralbenc also uses solar energy; produces its own wine, olive oil, vegetables and eggs on site; and prioritises local suppliers.
