Hacienda Uayamon

The grace of the hacienda

At the heart of the Yucatán region, not far from the UNESCO-listed colonial city of Campeche and the Mayan archaeological sites, stands one of the region's finest haciendas: Hacienda Uayamon. This property, which was once one of the largest agricultural estates in the surrounding area, has been magnificently transformed and restored into a luxurious, intimate boutique hotel by the Indonesian architect Jaya Ibrahim. Hacienda Uayamon has thus managed to preserve its 18th-century historical character with its colonial architecture, ruins and stone walls, and elegant decor... Guests come here to experience a timeless stay. The hotel has 12 rooms and suites, including two suites created in a former hospital. The rooms are spacious and elegant, revealing decor that is at once authentic, refined and modern. They are scattered throughout a lush garden where birds and iguanas have made their home. The hotel restaurant offers cuisine with Peruvian and Western flavours, based on fresh, organic produce from the Hacienda's garden: the promise of a delicious culinary experience.
