    An oasis for a Slow Safari

    The owners of Chem Chem had the wisdom to create three ultra-refined and complementary lodges between Lake Manyara and Tarangire National Park, thus offering, thanks to their two private concessions totalling over 20,000 hectares, an exceptional migration corridor for animals between the two ecosystems. Combining two of their lodges is a brilliant idea. Near the shores of Lake Manyara is nestled Chem Chem Lodge, with its eight safari tents featuring elegantly revisited colonial charm. The structure of the main lodge recalls the silhouette of a flamingo with its wings wide open, ready to land. One of the wings houses the gourmet restaurant, while the other reveals a bar, a fireplace and a library brimming with books on nature. The lodge features a panoramic terrace offering breath-taking views of Lake Manyara. In the 4,000-hectare private concession, the slow safari takes pride of place: 4x4 drives, but not only that—guided walks, encounters with the Maasai, a refreshing swimming pool and a dream bush spa.

    The owners of Chem Chem, Fabia and Nicolas, have created their own foundation whose aim is to protect the natural environment by helping local communities to look after the wildlife. In collaboration with communities, teachers and authorities, the foundation supports the education system by offering training to teachers and raising children's awareness of their ecosystem.
