    Glamping experience in the Australian bush

    Nestled in the heart of the Australian bush, just a few kilometres from Jervis Bay, Paperbark Camp will delight nature lovers and glamping enthusiasts alike. Inspired by their safari experience in Africa, owners Jeremy and Irena Hutchings have created a camp of 12 canvas tents on stilts, each featuring a wooden deck overlooking the vegetation. Surrounded by eucalyptus trees, the spacious tents boast eco-chic decor enhanced by semi-open-air bathrooms. From the privacy of your room, you can observe the birds and sometimes even the kangaroos that inhabit the region. At the heart of the camp is The Gunyah, which means meeting place in the Aboriginal language. The restaurant there offers contemporary regional cuisine served among the treetops, made with ultra-fresh local ingredients and delicious multicultural flavours. Paperbark Camp faces the Currambene River, which further down joins the famous Jervis Bay, renowned for its pristine beaches, walking trails and wildlife. Your exploration of the bush will be in harmony with nature: by canoe, on a bike or on foot!

    ETHICS

    Paperbark Camp is a member of the Eco Lodges of Australia group and was awarded the Advanced Eco National Accreditation for its ecotourism commitment. The camp blends seamlessly into the landscape and is powered by solar panels. Areas affected by construction have been revegetated and the camp's structure is on stilts to limit ground impact. Paperbark sources as locally as possible and works with a permaculturist to cultivate its own vegetable garden.
