The number of remarkable natural sites on the island and its immediate surroundings is impressive. Sir David Attenborough once even wrote that Lord Howe is an island «so extraordinary it is almost unbelievable...».

Furthermore, Lord Howe Island is limited to a maximum of 400 visitors at any one time in order to preserve the island’s natural environment.
