Four Seasons Resort on Desroches Island

There once was an island

Desroches Island is a small Seychellois paradise located a half-hour flight south-west of the capital, Mahé. There, far from civilisation in the middle of the Indian Ocean, a lagoon with crystal-clear waters and lush tropical vegetation provide a stunning backdrop for an exclusive beach resort... The Amirantes are a chain of small, heavenly islands and reefs stretching across the Indian Ocean 250 km south-west of Mahé. Among them, the coral island of Desroches is the only one to offer luxury accommodation, set within one of the Seychelles' most beautiful coconut groves. The resort offers 71 keys, recreating a languid tropical atmosphere with a bed draped in a sheer mosquito net, exotic wooden furniture, immaculate white soft furnishings, solid parquet flooring, etc. All of this, of course, faces a turquoise lagoon to be explored with a mask and snorkel, or for the more adventurous, by scuba diving. Desroches has also built its reputation on the freshness of its restaurants (Claudine, The Lighthouse and Le Deli...) and its relaxation facilities, featuring its Terre d'Afrique Spa and treatments delivered right on the sand.

The Amirantes islands are still very wild, and organising a private excursion to the neighbouring islands of Poivre or Arros is unforgettable.

ETHICS

The renovation of Desroches was led by the architectural firm Eco ID Consulting, and therefore based on strong principles of environmental preservation. The hotel is also committed to the conservation of the endemic ecosystem, notably the Mascarene giant tortoises.
