The Bougainville

Adventure Cruise with Ponant Explorers

Warm and airy communal spaces, sleek design opening out to the sea, sharp exterior lines, a marina making Zodiac access easy, technological amenities, an outdoor swimming pool, a multi-sensory underwater lounge... Le Bougainville represents the new generation of ships created to combine discovery and luxury, even in the most remote areas. The 92 cabins and suites aboard Le Bougainville have been designed to provide passengers with absolute comfort. All boasting private balconies or terraces, they are carefully decorated and contribute to the ship's intimate yet warm atmosphere. Located below the waterline, the famous Blue Eye, the first multi-sensory lounge, offers a unique experience: enjoy a genuine window onto the seabed and listen to the captivating sounds of marine life while sipping a drink... An essential component of the cruise, gastronomy naturally holds a place of pride on board Le Bougainville: at the rear of the ship, Le Nautilus is a panoramic gourmet restaurant, while the Grill Restaurant welcomes passengers outdoors in a more relaxed setting.

THE EXTRAORDINARY

The Ponant Explorers ships are the world's first cruise ships equipped with a multisensory underwater lounge: the Blue Eye. In the wake of Jules Verne and his Nautilus, this lounge combines cutting-edge technology with architecture inspired by biomimetics. Within the Blue Eye, passengers can experience an unprecedented visual and acoustic immersion in the marine biosphere, thanks to portholes below the waterline, screens projecting the seabed, hydrophones transmitting the sounds of animals, and body-listening sofas vibrating to the rhythm of aquatic life!

ETHICS

The Ponant Group has introduced a series of measures aimed at minimising the environmental footprint of its cruises: phasing out heavy fuel oil, carrying out environmental impact assessments, limiting the average speed of its ships, and so on… 1,001 TP3T vessels in their fleet hold the CLEANSHIP certification from Bureau Veritas, attesting to their reduced environmental impact. Fitted with electric propulsion engines powered by generators, their ships have been awarded Comfort Class 1 – the lowest level in terms of noise and vibration – ensuring maximum comfort for passengers whilst also respecting marine life.
