The Cotton House Hotel

THE WORLD OF BARCELONIAN COTTON PLANTERS

In the heart of the Eixample, the Cotton House rises majestically on the former site of the Cotton Textile Foundation, an iconic 19th-century modernist building that is a benchmark of the city of Barcelona. Built at the request of a Catalan bourgeois family, the building was sold to the Cotton Guild, which established its head office there with the aim of creating a true House of Cotton. During the renovation of the premises in 2015, original elements of the building were preserved, such as the imposing marble staircase, the 1957 spiral staircase, and the delicate parquet floors and wood panelling that decorate the ceilings, floors and walls of certain rooms. The result is a distinguished atmosphere, steeped in history yet modern and comfortable. The Cotton House is home to 83 elegant and cosy rooms, the decoration of which is inspired by cotton through the plant's colour palette: white, black, sepia and fabrics evoking softness and delicacy. At the cosmopolitan Batuar restaurant, service runs from 07:00 to midnight, the cuisine is fresh and Mediterranean, the bar mixes innovative cocktails and the atmosphere reflects a sophisticated colonial flavour. Finally, the building's noble interiors house an elegant library, lounges, a light-filled conservatory and a leafy 300m² terrace. On the top floor of the Cotton House, a peaceful outdoor swimming pool invites guests to relax with views over the rooftops of Barcelona.

Upon request, a prestigious tailor will take your measurements, advise you on the various fine tailoring fabrics and craft the shirt of your dreams.

ETHICS

The Cotton House is involved in social initiatives every year to make a positive impact on Spanish communities. These initiatives include providing food and maintenance support to remote villages, organising food drives for those in need, collecting clothing for the Cáritas charity, and donating pillows to a spiritual retreat in the Vic area. The hotel has also partnered with the Sicilian brand Ortigia to provide 100% natural toiletries in guest rooms, made from Mediterranean ingredients.
