Sublime Comporta

The perfect balance between luxury and nature

Not far from the Sado Nature Reserve, among pine trees and rice fields, the Sublime Comporta hotel offers a wilderness oasis set across 17 hectares of land. Just an hour's drive from the capital, the flora and fauna are abundant, and the white sandy beaches, often deserted, stretch for dozens of kilometres. Sublime Comporta is home to 45 rooms, suites and villas scattered across various accommodations in the shade of the vegetation. In all the rooms, large bay windows open onto a wooden terrace allowing guests to fully enjoy nature. The decks of the Bio Pool Suites look directly onto an ecological pool, while the Villas have their own private pool for extra comfort. The estate has 3 communal pools, including an indoor one, and offers a kids« club for the little ones. Adults, meanwhile, can head to the Sublime Spa to enjoy treatment rituals based on local and natural ingredients. Tucked away in the middle of the vegetable garden is the Circle restaurant, which welcomes just 12 guests to share its authentic, local and seasonal cuisine. At Sem Porta, whose architecture is inspired by old rice barns, the chef's cuisine is creative and predominantly organic. To vary the experience, guests can also opt for the Da Comporta restaurant and its »petiscos", Portuguese tapas; or sit down at the Beach Club restaurant between swims.

The Sado Estuary Nature Reserve is an important nesting site for a wide variety of birds and is home to Portugal's only resident dolphins. To take in the beauty of the sea, guests can head to the Sublime Comporta Beach Club, just 10 minutes away, which features a restaurant, a bar and a beach equipped with sun loungers.

ETHICS

Sublime Comporta maintains an organic vegetable garden with over 300 varieties, following the principles of permaculture. The harvested produce is used in the hotel's restaurants, bar and Spa. The materials that make up the hotel are of natural origin and some of the accommodation is built on stilts to limit its impact on the ground. Some trees have even been integrated into the villas to avoid cutting them down. The hotel is also equipped with solar panels to heat the water for the rooms, swimming pools and Spa.
