The Datai

Jungle fever

The Datai Langkawi is a visionary project that came to life when the Franco-Australian architectural duo, Didier Lefort & Kerry Hill, discovered the property overlooking the magnificent Datai Bay in the late 1980s. It was love at first sight, and they proposed a bold and unexpected architectural design set in the heart of the jungle, 300 metres from the sea, blending so seamlessly into the landscape that the hotel is barely visible to the naked eye. There are 121 accommodation units spread across three sites: the rooms and suites in the Canopy Collection, three villas in the Rainforest Collection, and finally 13 villas in the Beach Collection. Their design, of rare elegance, blends exotic wood with natural stone in a refined oriental style. Guests have a choice of four restaurants: The Gulai House, with its Malay influences; The Pavilion, offering Thai flavours; The Dining Room, serving fusion cuisine; and the Beach Club, serving fresh snacks whilst you have your feet in the sand. The spa is nestled deep in the forest, alongside a stream, and offers treatments using 100% organic products developed locally for the hotel. The Datai is a haven of peace offering a dual sensory experience, combining the jungle and the marine environment...
