    Kyambura and its gorge

    Kyambura Gorge Lodge is located on the edge of Queen Elizabeth National Park with breathtaking views of the rolling savannah, distant mountains and the famous Kyambura Gorge from which it takes its name. It is an intimate and romantic safari lodge offering 8 attractive thatched bandas where wood and bamboo vie for pride of place, which indigo-coloured cushions ultimately steal. The lodge is the ideal place to track lost chimpanzees in the Kyambura Gorge forest, to discover the tree-climbing lions of Queen Elizabeth National Park, to watch crocodiles and hippos from a boat on the Kazinga Channel between Lakes Edward and George, and to take an interest in the hundreds of bird species that take advantage of this generous ecosystem.

    Kyambura Gorge is full of surprises; first, it is an impressive gorge carved out by a river, and it is also an exceptional refuge for a significant number of animal and bird species. The diversity of experiences is truly well worth a detour, but requires a stay of at least 3 nights to fully appreciate the richness of Mother Nature.

    ETHICS

    Volcanoes Safaris Partnership Trust has purchased two buffer zones: one of 18 ha in the immediate vicinity of the lodge, which protects a wetland, and another 3 km long, representing 40 ha, along the gorges to protect the area and reintroduce endemic trees. The lodge also supports local coffee production.
