Sand River Selous

Sand Rivers Selous is an authentic and luxurious bush lodge built within a verdant bend of the great Rufiji River, in the north of the immense Selous Game Reserve, now called Nyerere National Park. 8 superb rooms and 1 house with stunning ethnic chic charm face an ecosystem of striking beauty teeming with life. It is on the north of the Rufiji River, on a peninsula covered in tamarind and mahogany trees, that Sand Rivers Selous decided to settle down. The splendour of the natural setting, the soothing sound of the water and the variety of activities make Sand Rivers an ideal safari retreat or base camp for expeditions to discover a reserve made famous by the explorer Frederick Courtenay Selous. Sand Rivers offers 9 magnificent rooms divided into 5 rooms, 3 suites (Tagalala and Kipalala) and 1 house (Rhino House). All enjoy plunging views of the river, with the added bonus of a private pool and small lounge for the suites and the house, which also has its own rhythm, with meals taken separately and a dedicated vehicle and guide. Safari activities abound: 4x4s, guided walks, motorboats and optional bush camping for the adventurous.
