Beho Beho

Beho Beho is the first lodge to have been established in the north of the immense Selous Game Reserve (now the Nyerere National Park). It is a luxury lodge enjoying the best location in the reserve with its 8 magnificent thatched stone cottages perched on Kipalala Hill, facing the grand plains of the Rufiji River. Selous, with its 54,000 km², is Africa's largest nature reserve, 3 times the size of the Serengeti. From the top of its hill, Beho Beho offers a unique and truly breathtaking vantage point from which to stylishly discover a site designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982 due to its extreme diversity of landscapes, fauna and flora. The 8 cottages, or «bandas» in Swahili, are furnished in an exquisite colonial style with four-poster mosquito-netted beds, travel trunks, cream fabrics dotted with colourful cushions, ethnic details, Persian rugs... Each cottage opens generously onto the plains and is equipped with a pair of telescopic binoculars allowing guests to enjoy nature from their own veranda. Safari activities include 4x4 game drives, guided bush walks, motorboat trips on Lake Tagalala and excursions to the Maji Moto hot springs.
