Tsala Treetop Lodge

Tsala Treetop, in the treetops

A dream stopover on the Garden Route, Tsala is a lodge nestled in a superb indigenous forest, offering a striking reinterpretation of the African myth. The monumental entrance of the lodge sets the tone, and the 10 suites and 6 new villas suspended in the canopy wonderfully complement an establishment with captivating charm. Tsala Treetop Lodge is located about ten kilometres from Plettenberg Bay and Knysna, and makes for a most romantic base on the Garden Route. The magic works as soon as you enter the lodge. Dry stone, a monumental wooden framework, transparent glass and pools of water evoke the ruins of a temple from a lost civilisation. Then, a décor inspired by tribal African art takes over in an explosion of colours and textures evoking the nourishing earth. Elevated wooden walkways meander through a lush forest to lead to one of the 10 suites or 6 villas suspended amongst the branches of huge trees. The Tsala experience is completed by succulent dinners which can be enjoyed in the main lodge dining room or under the stars in an unusual leafy setting.
