Mowani Mountain Camp

At the heart of the arid Damaraland region, nestled within an impressive cluster of rocks, lies Mowani Mountain Camp. Comprising 13 rooms and 2 suites decorated in a safari style, it offers breath-taking views of a lunar landscape, considered to be one of the cradles of our civilisation, where resilient animal species survive. Mowani Mountain Camp has been built amidst a rugged terrain of ancient volcanic remains. 13 rooms, 1 luxury room and 1 large suite, nestled into the rock, overlook the arid plains dotted with savannah, which are dominated by eroded mountains of striking colours. Mowani is the ideal base from which to discover, in a pre-war safari atmosphere, a fascinating region in terms of species adaptation to the merciless living conditions of the desert and the culture of the African continent. Activities include 4x4 safaris to encounter elephants or black rhinos, guided walks to enjoy the spectacular panoramas and enduring flora such as the astonishing welwitschia, and excursions to the listed archaeological site of Twyfelfontein rock engravings.
