THE EXTRAORDINARY
Amboseli offers a unique ecosystem in Africa in terms of hydrology, topography, geology and culture. Despite relatively scarce rainfall, the swamps fed by Mount Kilimanjaro support a considerable variety of birds and animals, largely dominated by a population of over 1,400 elephants.
ETHICS
Tortilis Camp was designed in accordance with eco-tourism principles and has already won several awards. The camp has implemented a number of measures to protect the environment, which has been damaged by an overpopulation of elephants, including fenced areas for the gradual regrowth of plant species.
