    The magic of first safaris

    Located to the north-west of the vast plains of the Serengeti, the Grumeti private reserve is committed to sustainable tourism through the development of exceptional lodges situated along the route of the great migration. One of these jewels, Singita Sabora Tented Camp, has been designed in the purest 1920s safari tradition with 9 tents worthy of the greatest explorer-adventurers. Singita Sabora Tented Camp blends discreetly into the immense plains of the Serengeti dotted with acacia trees. Renovated in November 2020, this luxury camp has turned towards modernity, adopting simpler and more natural codes. Sabora consists of a central mess area with 2 large lounge and dining tents, linked by a wooden deck transformed into an observation terrace. 9 superb tents raised on wooden flooring are decorated in a sleek modern safari style with natural muted colours. Four-poster beds, muslin, leather, linen, wood, ethnic objects; the proximity to the bush is palpable. The activities on offer are rich and varied: 4x4 safaris, walking safaris, or horse-riding with a ranger, and back at the lodge, relaxation by the pool, clay-court tennis, archery or dreamy contemplation.

    The Grumeti Reserve covers a vast area of 1,500 km², which is the scene of the great wildebeest and zebra migration in July and August. You will be able to admire this world-unique spectacle in complete peace and quiet from one of Singita's 3 dream lodges (Sabora, Sasakwa or Faru Faru), without crossing paths with a single other vehicle.

    ETHICS

    Singita implements major projects in wildlife management and protection, reserve and ecosystem integrity, sustainable tourism practices and community development. Singita channels a portion of the profits generated by tourism into the Grumeti Fund, intended to finance local programmes, concession development and wildlife management, including the reintroduction of the black rhinoceros, which was decimated in the past.
