    Hoshinoya, by the water's edge

    After a 15-minute crossing aboard a private boat, a building hidden behind a curtain of greenery appears on the horizon: the Hoshinoya Kyoto hotel. Hoshinoya is a century-old traditional ryokan completely restored by architect Rie Azuma, inviting its guests to recharge their batteries in an exotic and contemporary setting. It is a haven of peace that highlights Kyoto's craftsmanship and history through refined and contemporary decoration. Hoshinoya Kyoto has 25 rooms with modern comfort inspired by traditional style, featuring shoji rice paper doors that diffuse a soft light throughout the room, cedar wood furniture and bay windows that offer a magnificent view of the river, landscaped gardens and a bamboo forest. On the culinary side, Chef Ichiro Kubota will offer you refined and gourmet Kaiseki cuisine, with innovative and highly aesthetic mixtures of flavours on your plate.
