    Amansara, vintage architecture

    L'Amansara is a former residence built in 1962 by French architect Laurent Mondet, where King Norodom Sihanouk would host his distinguished guests. Its grounds have been transformed into a luxury hotel with a unique character by the Aman group, boasting a total of just 24 suites. All suites are spacious, with a minimum area of 75m², and feature an ultra-refined décor that subtly echoes the nearby bas-reliefs. Each suite includes an outdoor courtyard with a small plunge pool, and twelve of them, the pool suites, have their own private 6-metre by 5-metre swimming pool. Guests are provided with a tuk-tuk and private driver for bespoke experiences in and around Siem Reap. L'Amansara is a unique and intimate retreat to recharge after exploring the famous UNESCO World Heritage site of Angkor. Guests can unwind in the hanging garden, the «Roof Garden,» by candlelight while enjoying a cocktail. The restaurant also offers excellent Khmer or Western cuisine, prepared with local, seasonal produce, and is renowned for its exceptional wine cellar. Not.
