Damaraland, land of the Damaras
In the mountainous region of north-western Namibia, north of the Huab River, set within a striking desert landscape, Damaraland Camp stands at the heart of a mineral wilderness, far from any civilisation. The camp has forged a special relationship with its environment by blending seamlessly into a spectacular backdrop of ochre mountains. Situated between the Huab River valley and the imposing Brandberg mountains, Damaraland Camp occupies a splendid natural site that plays with contours and colours. Each of the 10 luxury tents features a private veranda offering sweeping, endless views over arid plains and rocky peaks. Opening onto a grandiose panorama, the main building houses a bar, lounge and dining area decorated with rattan and wooden furniture accented with off-white cushions. The camp offers original activities to discover the desert-adapted flora and fauna, as well as exceptional sites such as the Twyfelfontein rock engravings and the fossilised trees of the petrified forest. Back at the camp, a campfire and a natural rock-cut swimming pool invite you to relax after unforgettable excursions.

In this cinematic setting, you will spot wildlife species that have managed to adapt to these formidable living conditions, and you will go there to admire the rock engravings at the Twyfelfontein archaeological site.
ETHICS
In the past, the local Torra community practiced poaching and the land was barren. By integrating it into the camp's economic activity and participating in the education of the villagers, Damaraland Camp has successfully rehabilitated its ecosystem. This is one of the best examples of partnership in Namibia.
