The Outpost

For a true safari experience, both by 4x4 and on foot, travellers can count on The Outpost, a lodge located in one of the most beautiful wilderness areas in the Kruger. The natural site of Pafuri is a region in its own right, so different from the traditional trails of the Kruger National Park that one could believe one had been transported to Central Africa! The Outpost is nestled in the heart of a vast 26,500-hectare wilderness teeming with wildlife and allowing visitors to observe a biodiversity rarely found in the rest of the Kruger, notably astonishing antelopes: nyalas, gemsbok and Sharpe's grysbok are all present. The park is also home to more than 350 species of birds, including the exceptional crowned eagle. On the botanical side, the lodge takes its visitors to meet Africa's oldest baobabs, whose immense trunks make heads turn. It is in this raw and untamed nature that the 12 suites of The Outpost as well as the exclusive Pel's Post lodge have been set up. Open to the bush and the river, these suites offer a spectacular panoramic view. Their modern design, combining wood, stone and polished concrete, blends subtly into the landscape.
