Torre de Palma Wine Hotel

Torre de Palma, a Design Hotels member

Torre de Palma Wine Hotel was created in 2014 during the renovation of a former 14th-century Portuguese manor house, located in the rural hinterland of the Alentejo. The hotel's typical facade, with its whitewashed walls, and the more contemporary interiors immerse visitors in an atmosphere that is both design-led and traditional. Torre de Palma consists of 19 rooms and suites of sophisticated elegance, inspired by the local way of life, some offering the comfort of a fireplace and a private outdoor space. The hotel's most exclusive suite, the Master, also features a private swimming pool overlooking a riding arena. Outside, a shared pool unfolds among sun loungers and vineyards, while an indoor pool enhances the spa facilities. The hotel has a single restaurant: Basili, led by a chef who is passionate about the flavours of the Alentejo. But Torre de Palma is above all about two passions: wine and horses. Set right in the heart of a wine-producing region, the estate produces 7 varieties of wine under the influence of the São Mamede climate, and offers its guests authentic tasting sessions. A stone's throw from the vineyards, the stables are home to magnificent Lusitano horses ready for off-the-beaten-track riding excursions.

As a member of Design Hotels, the property is characterised by interiors adorned with elegant furniture, vintage pieces, wooden elements and original trinkets, giving the whole a unique pastoral charm.
