Hotel Urso

A boutique hotel & spa

Benefiting from a central location at the crossroads of the Chamberí, Tribunal and Chueca districts, the Hotel Urso is a historic building constructed in 1915 by José María Mendoza Ussía. The establishment integrates the majestic character of 19th-century Madrid's bourgeois architecture with the modernity and comfort of a luxury hotel of today. Formerly the headquarters of the Spanish Paper Company, the hotel retains its neoclassical elegance with its corner features, chamfered angles and turrets. Its history is also illustrated through its interiors, adorned with period features such as the central patio, stained-glass windows, decorative azulejos (ceramic tiles), the library, marble floors and wood panelling. The hotel's 78 rooms and suites feature refined decor, comprising photographs of old Madrid, natural textiles and contemporary furniture. On the culinary front, La Serre offers a varied menu beneath a glass roof extended by a vertical garden, whilst authentic recipes make the Media Ración bistro renowned. The Hotel Urso is also a wellness oasis right in the heart of Madrid, featuring a spa with an indoor pool.
