    It is from this island, they say, that the Silk Road started: Korčula can thus boast of housing Marco Polo's home, just a few steps from the Lešić Dimitri Palace. This boutique hotel is located in the heart of the medieval town of Korčula, overlooking the Adriatic Sea. The building's history dates back to the 18th century, when the wealthy Lešić merchant family united adjoining houses to create a palace worthy of their status. Its careful renovation has brought a few contemporary touches while preserving its historical character and original layout, offering today a small number of independent suites. Each of the 5 residences evokes a stage of Marco Polo's journey to China, in a harmonious decor composed of noble materials. Have breakfast on the terrace, facing the sea, and watch the fishermen return with your future lunch; chat with the chef about his market shopping and ask him for advice on the region's best wines or the tastiest olive oils. Relax at the spa, take a short sea excursion on the palace's sailing boat or get lost in the magical streets of the old town. Then comes the time for an aperitif and the sunset punctuated by klapa songs... Another day draws to a close on this enchanting island.
