THE EXTRAORDINARY
Many family adventures await guests at Treetops Lodge. Savvy film buffs can visit Hobbiton, the fictional village where «The Lord of the Rings» and «The Hobbit» trilogy were filmed, and thus discover the richness of the sets and the secrets of the filming. For foodies, a forest expedition invites them to gather native plants and then cook them at the lodge to discover all their benefits.
ETHICS
The primary concern of the owner of Treetops Lodge is respect for nature, and more specifically the protection of the forest and wildlife. Built from local wood and stone, the lodge blends perfectly into nature. It supplies its own energy through micro-hydroelectricity, reuses its greywater for irrigation, recycles its waste and carries out composting. Thousands of trees have been replanted in deforested areas, and the lodge supports local craftsmanship through entrepreneurship programmes.
