Hotel Wailea

A Relais & Châteaux property

An intimate enclave perched on a hillside above the Pacific on the island of Maui, Hotel Wailea belongs to the privileged world of Relais & Châteaux. Discover this enchanted island where the wild fragrance of contrasting landscapes mingles with the rugged ocean coastline. Watchful guardian Haleakala, soaring to over 3,000 metres above sea level, ensures the island of Maui will appeal as much to lovers of adventure as to contemplative aesthetes... Nestled in the heart of lush vegetation, the Wailea is a veritable adult-only oasis of peace for child-free romantic breaks! The 72 luxury suites, featuring ohia wood furniture and chic, understated decoration, all offer superb panoramic views of the landscaped tropical gardens, orchards or the Pacific Ocean. Set in a 6-hectare estate, this former Japanese club offers a relaxed atmosphere where you can start the day with a yoga session near the waterfall, before savouring a delicious cocktail by the pool. Afterwards, enjoy a gourmet dinner carefully prepared by the chefs using ingredients from the hotel's own kitchen garden and local produce.

ETHICS

Every morning, the head chef draws recipe inspiration from the heart of his vegetable garden, where the scents of aromatic herbs, papaya trees and mango trees mingle. To create its tasty cocktails, the hotel sources its fruit from Local Harvest, a wholesaler that brings together all the small local producers in Maui. Wailea's Green Attitude does not stop there; the hotel is a founding member of the NGO Grow Some Good, an association that encourages and promotes sustainable initiatives in schools.
