This unusual place offers the chance to live fully immersed in the local population to discover their lands and culture through an authentic programme dedicated exclusively to guests of Fogo Island Inn. Throughout the seasons, the island's inhabitants share their way of life and cuisine with guests. During the winter, you will traverse the trails on skis or snowshoes alongside a local resident, you can try your hand at cod-smoking techniques, or you will take a drawing lesson with a local artist.

The inn is committed to implementing recycling and composting schemes and to using rainwater harvesting systems. It is a real asset to the community, and 100 % of its operating surplus is reinvested in the community to ensure a sustainable and resilient future for Fogo Island.
