Banyan Tree AlUla

LUXURY GLAMPING AND DESERT MAGIC

Set within the velvety sands of the Ashar Valley and just 15 km from the Hegra archaeological site in the Hijaz mountains, Banyan Tree AlUla is a timeless escape. This 5-star hotel benefits from an exceptional, secluded location right in the middle of the desert, overlooked by a monumental canyon. For the interior design, the architectural firm AW2 drew inspiration from Nabataean origins with the desire to build a property that blends seamlessly into this striking landscape of rocks, canyons and sand. Accessible by buggy via paths carved through the sand dunes, the 47 villas, 5 royal villas and 27 tents are scattered across the pristine valley where time seems to stand still. Whether historical, archaeological, cultural, artistic, natural or sporting, the hotel offers exotic and unforgettable experiences in this land rich in a history spanning millennia. Within the two restaurants, Saffron and Harrat, you will treat your tastebuds to an exhilarating sensory journey, blending Thai cuisine with delicious local dishes. Meanwhile, the spa offers a holistic approach combining Asian rituals and Arabian traditions, where natural, indigenous ingredients are at the heart of every treatment. ETHICS

An international hotel group, Banyan Tree has placed sustainable development at the heart of its concerns. Since 2009, the group has developed its own foundation and works worldwide for various causes. At Banyan Tree Alula, the architects used water harvesting techniques with micro-catchment gardens that collect and absorb rainwater, enabling the presence of vegetation on the site. The gardens also offer protection against flooding during months of heavy precipitation, as the Saudi desert is prone to flash floods.
