    RELAXATION MEETS SENSORY EXALTATION

    Within the North Malé Atoll, just a 45-minute boat ride from Malé airport, four islands form a characterful archipelago named Fari Islands. On one of the islets, the Patina group has taken over the pristine sands to create Patina Maldives, its very first resort opened in mid-2021, housing 110 villas and studios in an enchanting island environment. Each accommodation gives pride of place to natural materials, carefully selected by Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan, and elegantly caters to different travel styles. The studios are thus located on the edge of Fari Marina Village to satisfy guests looking for a lively atmosphere, while the pool villas are tucked away in the tropical greenery or embrace the waters of the lagoon to enjoy a more intimate setting. The height of exclusivity is reached with the Beach Collection, a private ensemble of seven villas, as many pools and a reserved stretch of beach on the western side of the islet. Well-being continues at the heart of the Flow spa, whose mantra is to preserve the connection between oneself and nature: aquatic massages, a hammam, seaweed-based skincare products, sound therapies... effectively harmonise the body and mind.     At the heart of Patina, the Fari Marina Village invites guests from the three resort islands to experience a thrilling facet of the Maldives. A true ode to joy and relaxation, the Beach Club is home to a restaurant where music enhances the flavours of Michelin-starred chef Nick Bril. At the marina, luxurious yachts gently bob to the rhythm of the Indian Ocean, whilst the art gallery a little further along exhibits the works of local and international artists. Have fun spotting those scattered throughout Patina's natural surroundings, including one by the Californian artist James Turrell, who cleverly plays with space and light.

    ETHICS

    Patina is committed to preserving the beauty of the Maldives through several initiatives: the hotel has salvaged thousands of trees from neighbouring cleared islands to plant on its own grounds, renewable materials are favored within the resort, and an organic permaculture garden supplies the restaurant. Here, energy comes from the sun and water is filtered and recycled to irrigate the vegetation. Patina also bans single-use plastics, and runs a coral conservation programme to protect the atoll's marine life.
