Miavana, ultra-chic sanctuary

In June 2017, a little piece of paradise was opened on the private island of Nosy Ankao: the luxurious and highly exclusive ecolodge, Miavana. Miavana means «to reconcile» in the Malagasy language, and it is a quest for reconnection with nature that you can experience there. This eco-friendly address was built using local materials such as stone, wood and glass on an island that is home to a protected natural and marine reserve. Miavana houses 14 splendid villas, measuring at least 450 m², featuring minimalist and refined white and turquoise decor. The villas have one to three bedrooms, each with a private sea-facing swimming pool. A butler can prepare the outdoor space to offer you a night under the stars beneath a clear sky filled with thousands of constellations. Miavana is unquestionably the ideal haven for living unique experiences and observing the biodiversity of the nature reserve on foot, by boat, with a mask and snorkel or aboard a helicopter. You will discover local craftsmanship through a «cabinet of curiosities» containing a collection of treasures from Madagascar. As for the fresh, creative Malagasy cuisine, it will be served to you at a time of your choosing and in the space that matches your mood, on the beach, on the rooftop, in your villa...

ETHICS

For nearly four years, thanks to the work of 400 artisans, the Miavana ecolodge was built using natural local and recycled materials, such as local stone which was cut, carved and then assembled by hand. The villas are equipped with solar panels. Miavana focuses on ecotourism with the aim of not destroying the environment, preserving the island's ecosystem and having a social impact through job creation and partnerships with local communities.
