    Since its construction, Areias do Seixo has been committed to limiting its environmental impact: sustainable and local materials, the use of geothermal energy to heat and cool water, the development of photovoltaic energy, food recycling into compost, the reuse of trees and materials damaged during a storm in 2009, the creation of an organic vegetable garden whose produce supplies the restaurant, raising guests' awareness of nature conservation, etc.
