    A river that flows beneath the sand

    Jongomero is a luxurious yet authentic tented camp in the exclusive Ruaha National Park. 10 superb colonial-style safari tents line the dry Jongomero riverbed. From your private stilted verandah, the safari is underway; simply look closely in the silence and the animals appear... Jongomero is set in the shade of large acacia trees on the edge of a sand river. It is peacefully located in the south-west of the park, away from any other camp, providing exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities. Ruaha is Tanzania's second largest park after the immense Selous, and forms an exciting transitional territory between the animal and plant species of East and Southern Africa. 10 splendid canvas rooms on wooden platforms are sheltered under thatched roofs and offer a refined welcome in the tradition of the classic safari. The atmosphere at Jongomero is fabulous, both simple and luxurious, with memorable candlelit dinners in the riverbed, refreshing swims in the rock-hewn swimming pool, and lively siestas to the sounds of the bush... Children accepted from 5 years old.

    THE EXTRAORDINARY

    The vast landscapes of Ruaha possess a breathtakingly wild beauty, and the timid animals that are difficult to spot in most parks are more easily encountered here. It is therefore not uncommon to cross paths with roan or sable antelopes, greater and lesser kudus, and sometimes even packs of the famous wild dogs.

    Laba Laba is a small, measuredly developed company with 4 camps in Tanzania, 2 in the Selous, 1 in the Ruaha, 1 in the Serengeti and 1 on the coast south of Dar es Salaam, with respect for the natural environment, employees, local communities, renewable energies, etc. It is a fine initiative and success.
