    Thanda Private Game Reserve is a dream enclave in the very heart of Zulu land. Thanda has built its reputation on a truly remarkable approach based on showcasing Zulu culture within the wild setting of a Big Five reserve spanning over 14,000 hectares. A handful of villas and tents offer a luxurious and intelligent experience of one of South Africa's most intense regions. Thanda Private Game Reserve is a magnificent private reserve located in northern KwaZulu-Natal. Thanda conceived the idea of developing three types of high-end accommodation reserved for the initiated. Fifteen safari-style colonial tents offer an intimate atmosphere and a nostalgia for the past. Nine sublime suites measuring 220 m², featuring a private swimming pool, a bathroom with an ostrich-egg-shaped bath, and both indoor and outdoor showers, offer a quirky colonial atmosphere in an explosion of colour. And finally, a sumptuous private villa boasts five bedrooms for large families or groups of friends seeking exclusivity. Thanda is packed with activities around the reserve (Land Rover safaris, bush walks, discovering the Zulu world, etc.) and in the immense iSimangaliso Wetland Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999.

    ETHICS

    Thanda is heavily involved in the preservation of Zulu culture. This translates into efforts to maintain the balance of the reserve, as well as the employment of local staff (over 250 people) and the creation of a living museum village, «Vula Zulu», designed to keep Zulu traditions alive on-site through performances.
