    The Phinda Private Game Reserve has already won numerous eco-tourism awards. It is an exciting reserve because it is home to 7 different natural habitats and therefore a rich animal and bird life, including the famous Big 5 (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo) and over 380 bird species. Phinda features 6 intimate lodges (Zuka Lodge, Rock Lodge, Forest Lodge, Vlei Lodge, Mountain Lodge and the private homestead lodge, The Homestead) which share a unique property of nearly 30,000 hectares. At the end of 2023, &Beyond Phinda Forest Lodge reopened its doors following a complete renovation of its suites and public areas. The lodge now consists of 16 suites built in the same zen spirit but with a more earthy design, playing on khaki and brown tones. The suites blend wonderfully into a forest environment with gnarled trees straight out of a children's fairy tale. It is a welcoming lodge that offers the perfect ingredients for the post-safari unwind: a swimming pool, a gym, a library, a dining room opening onto nature, and a boma deck with a campfire to recount the day's adventures beneath a starry sky.
