Kwandwe Ecca Lodge

Innovative, stylish and intimate, Kwandwe Ecca Lodge is the result of a bold and particularly successful renovation of an old farmhouse featuring very avant-garde architectural elements. The lodge consists of just 6 large suites with a private plunge pool overlooking the Kwandwe private reserve south of East London. Dry stone walls with wire gabions, large picture windows, solid wood doors, corrugated iron roofs, brushed concrete, original bathroom tiles, teak decking and colourful soft furnishings create the eclectic yet elegant and understated charm of the 6 magnificent suites, 3 of which are reserved for families. Adding to all this luxurious and original comfort is a superb, long infinity pool overlooking the bush! The 4x4 or walking safaris organised by the lodge allow guests to observe the beauty of the reserve and its famous Big Five. As an optional extra, guests are offered the chance to explore the region’s social, cultural, military and archaeological past in the company of a historian, or to follow the lodge's carnivore research project.
