    Segera, artistic retreat

    Segera Retreat is a magnificent ranch spanning nearly 125,000 hectares, converted into an exceptional, heavily art-focused lodge. The Laikipia plateau offers breathtakingly beautiful landscapes overlooking Mount Kenya and the Matthews Mountain Range, and it is within this unique and privileged setting that Segera Retreat unfolds across its 4 different buildings. The Farm House, the original ranch, accommodates 3 suites, as does Segera House, whilst Villa Segera consists of just 2 suites. Next come 6 Garden Villas, which enjoy the property's finest swimming pool. The ranch is filled with unique objects and works of art that will pique the curiosity of enthusiasts. They will also appreciate the quality of the service and the flawless organisation of safaris to discover the large mammals and their cohort of predators. The Laikipia plateau lies at an altitude of around 1,800 metres, promising refreshing nights in a country sometimes subject to high temperatures.

    THE EXTRAORDINARY

    Segera promises a refined stay with excellent wines and the opportunity to discover works of art by local artisans in the lodge's gallery as well as in the lodge's very own garden, featuring a most successful arrangement of sculptures. Art in the bush is sometimes unexpected but always welcome!

    ETHICS

    The lodge has been designed to have the minimum impact on the environment, and particular care is taken in the management of energy, which is predominantly solar, and of water, featuring a treatment plant for drinking water, the use of rainwater, and the recycling of wastewater.
