    Duma Tau is getting a makeover in 2020

    Although Duma Tau means roar, this luxurious 8-tent camp, set in a private concession in the Linyanti west of Chobe National Park, has built its reputation on a massive concentration of elephants and surprisingly prolific wildlife. It is the permanent water coming from the Savute Channel that makes this region so attractive to animals. It is a vast concession of over 125,000 hectares, offering splendid natural sites heavily frequented by wildlife, such as the Linyanti River, forests and the Savute Channel. It is a paradise shared by only 3 small-capacity luxury lodges. Duma Tau welcomes its guests in superb, spacious thatched tents overlooking a large lagoon populated by hippos. The region is renowned for its incredible concentrations of elephants gathering around the waterways during the dry winter months, as well as for its packs of wild dogs that you may have the opportunity to observe by 4x4, on foot or on the water, depending on the water level. Note: Children accepted from 6 years of age.

    ETHICS

    Duma Tau is investing in research into the impact of elephants on vegetation and other animal species. The lodge has achieved the remarkable feat of running entirely on solar power. Greywater is recycled before being released into the natural environment. Drinking water is sourced locally and supplied in glass jugs. All detergents (for washing up, laundry and personal care) are biodegradable.
