Spicers Peak Lodge

At the top of Queensland

Perched atop a mountain, Spicers Peak Lodge sits delicately on an 8,000-acre plateau surrounded by the breathtaking Main Range National Park. Just a two-hour drive from Brisbane in the Queensland High Country, this lodge has established itself as a true high-altitude retreat ready to answer the call of the Australian wilderness. The architecture of Spicers Peak Lodge blends contemporary design with the classic spirit of a mountain lodge, revealing interiors adorned with bluestone, timber and photographs of the region's landscapes. Guests can stay in the main building, which houses 10 comfortably furnished suites, some featuring a fireplace, or opt for one of the two private lodges overlooking the escarpment. In the latter, travellers will particularly appreciate the terrace and its outdoor jacuzzi for relaxing after a great day of hiking. At Spicers Peak Lodge, there is no shortage of experiences for enjoying the beauty of the Main Range: guided walks, mountain biking, 4x4 excursions, night walks... so many opportunities to catch a glimpse of the rare glossy black cockatoo, or observe the kangaroos, koalas and dingoes that populate the region. It is from this exceptional natural setting that the lodge's restaurant, The Peak, sources its ingredients, offering cuisine that showcases the best of Australian produce under the guidance of head chef Dean Alsford.
