Nujuma, a Ritz Carlton Reserve

THE RED SEA STAR

Overlooking the crystal-clear waters of the Red Sea on the peaceful island of Ummahat within the Al Wajh lagoon, Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, is the new destination for any traveller seeking an immersive experience at the heart of an unspoilt archipelago. Inspired by the Arabic word "nujuma", meaning "stars", this retreat – accessible only by boat or seaplane – invites its guests to embark on a celestial journey beneath the pristine skies of this secluded paradise. Designed by the renowned architectural firm Foster and Partners, Nujuma is an architectural masterpiece, blending tradition and modernity. Drawing inspiration from the graceful curves of seashells and utilising natural materials, Nujuma’s architecture blends seamlessly into its island setting. Wood, natural stone and rattan are used extensively to create a warm and authentic atmosphere. These materials echo the island’s natural elements and contribute to a sense of well-being. The 63 keys, comprising overwater villas and beach villas, offer panoramic views of the turquoise expanse and feature private pools, terraces equipped with telescopes for stargazing, and the attentive service of a dedicated butler. Beyond its luxurious accommodation, Nujuma invites its guests on a culinary journey through its five restaurants. The chefs take pride in using fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from local producers. For travellers seeking adventure, the hotel offers a range of experiences that encourage exploration and relaxation. Nature lovers can explore the crystal-clear seabed, go kayaking in the mangroves or set off on excursions to the surrounding islands or the undulating desert dunes. For those seeking wellness, the Neyrah Spa – whose name evokes fresh water – draws inspiration from this source of life to offer revitalising and rejuvenating treatments. The therapists use natural ingredients, such as essential oils, local plants and minerals from the Red Sea, to create unique beauty rituals. Don’t wait any longer – treat yourself to a "star-like" experience at Nujuma.
