Aman Kyoto

Aman Kyoto, zen ambiance

Opened in November 2019, Aman Kyoto has been developed in the heart of a splendid landscape in the northern Takagamine district of Kyoto. The gardens, initially designed for a textile museum, serve as a setting for the hotel project by architect Kerry Hill, who was commissioned once more. They feature whimsical stone pathways, moss-covered flagstones, structured stone beds, and a poetic combination of plant species that beautifully shape the property's volumes. The 24 rooms and 2 pavilions are a contemporary tribute to the traditional Japanese inn, the ryokan, strikingly minimalist in their geometry, with each serving as a window onto its natural environment. The interiors are spacious and light-filled, ingeniously designed to foster peace, relaxation and contemplation from every angle. To perfect the experience, Aman Kyoto features two restaurants offering exceptionally fresh, local traditional cuisine, and the ultimate Aman spa experience, thanks to the proximity of natural hot springs and the use of local ingredients such as Kyoto green tea.
