Soneva, the eco-luxury ethos

Soneva Fushi is a sublime eco-chic beach retreat in the Baa Atoll, a 30-minute seaplane flight from the airport. 70 dreamlike thatched-roof villas are scattered across the island in a lush, barely tamed jungle overlooking the lagoon. The place is so beautiful and timeless that it inspired the phrase «No news, No shoes». Soneva Fushi offers an astonishing array of 70 villas of various categories, capturing the very essence of a Robinson Crusoe-inspired beach retreat. The interior decoration opts for an elegant simplicity, favouring space and light in shades of white and warm tan. The furniture, crafted by local artisans, uses only natural, renewable materials. All villas feature private beach access and a private terrace, and house one or more bedrooms, sometimes a living room, and always a vast bathroom opening onto a pretty private tropical garden. Soneva Fushi has 2 restaurants serving inventive cuisine sourced from the island's organic garden. Finally, its famous Six Senses Spa offers treatments and massages, yoga and reflexology right on the beach. Intelligent luxury, close to nature.

THE EXTRAORDINARY

Soneva Fushi offers a range of three-bedroom villas up to nine-bedroom villas for large families or groups of friends. All of these villas feature a private swimming pool, indoor and outdoor living areas, and sometimes a water slide and an observation tower rising some ten metres high. They each have their own unique architecture, but are united by the same desire to use local and sustainable materials.

ETHICS

Soneva’s mission is to create enriching experiences within a sustainable environment. The list of successful initiatives is long: a vegetable garden, natural materials, waste reduction, energy and water management, 0.5% of revenue allocated to local projects, reduced greenhouse gas emissions, fair trade, and the employment of local people… The owner knows all his staff and takes a paternalistic approach to ensuring their well-being.
