On the north-west coast of Terre Rouge, on the edge of the crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean, lies a small corner of paradise: Eden Lodge. As the first luxury ecolodge to run exclusively on solar energy, it offers just 8 lodges that simply blend colour, eco-design and an ethnic spirit on a dream beach dotted with centuries-old baobabs. On the tip of Anjanojano, far from the hustle and bustle of Nosy Be, Eden Lodge was built in the heart of a nature reserve spanning over 8 hectares. Conceived in 2005 by an inspired couple in love with the country, the lodge, in keeping with its environmentally friendly ethos, is centred around ancient baobabs. Its vibrant style is a clever mix of design, furniture made by local craftsmen, and flamboyant fabrics. To welcome guests, there are just 8 lodges measuring 75m², inspired by the African safari style: wooden flooring, canvas structures, and roof shelters covered with traveller's palm leaves. Lightness serving efficiency, the lodges can be dismantled in no time at all and provide optimal natural ventilation.
