Nikoi Private Island

Nikoi, under the sign of granite

The Nikoi project was born in 2005 from a trip by an Australian couple to Bintan, who fell head over heels in love with this charming, wild granite islet. Two years later, the Nikoi Private Island eco-resort was born, a secluded address of 15 lovely wooden villas on the edge of the beach. The hotel has been developed around the island's finest white sandy beach, at the foot of a dense tropical forest home to well-preserved flora and fauna. The hotel blends in perfectly with its natural environment and ensures true comfort, right on the sand… all in a relaxed atmosphere. Its 15 beach villas are spread across the island: 6 houses on the north coast and another 9 houses to the south. The accommodation consists of 1 to 3 spacious bedrooms and has been built on stilts, with a balcony overlooking the sea. The range of land and marine activities will keep you busy, and the expert hands of the spa therapists will have you back on your feet in no time.

Depending on your desires, you can choose to dine on the beach or in the comfort of your beach villa. If you are looking for an even more unusual gastronomic experience, have your meal served on one of the deserted islands near the hotel: savour the promise of tranquillity coupled with the feeling of being alone at the edge of the world.

ETHICS

All Nikoi's villas were built using driftwood from a targeted area of the island in order to minimise the hotel's environmental impact. Nikoi Island is involved with the local community of the neighbouring islands via its foundation, ‘The Island Foundation", which aims in particular to provide local employment, set up a network of libraries and give children and adults the opportunity to learn to read or study school subjects such as English.
