    Azura Benguerra is a charming luxury eco-lodge set on a divine beach on Benguerra Island, in the Bazaruto Archipelago. Built entirely by hand and with total respect for its natural surroundings, Azura offers 20 magnificent villas. It is an idyllic beach retreat that is easily accessed from South Africa. The splendid thatched villas were crafted by hand using sustainable or recycled materials, and the decor is the work of local artisans and disadvantaged people in Africa. This results in stunning villas with a breathtaking style that cleverly blends design elements with ethnic objects. Pastel and white shades, the large four-poster bed with a sweeping view of the private pool and the azure-blue ocean, the spa—all the ingredients are in place for absolute relaxation...     THE EXTRAORDINARY

    The presidential villa has been built away from the lodge to ensure maximum privacy. It is an absolute treat, with 425 m² under thatch comprising 3 bedrooms with superb indoor and outdoor bathrooms, a lounge, dining room, as well as a treehouse, a 16-metre-long swimming pool, 2 outdoor seating areas, all with a private chef and butler, and even a helipad for discreet arrivals and departures.

    ETHICS

    The construction of Azura was carried out by hand by local workers trained on site, and endeavoured to use a maximum of sustainable materials, renewable energies and non-polluting products. Azura exclusively employs local residents and funds the Rainbow Trust, which supports community life.
