At the heart of the Ruaha National Park, in a preserved wild environment, Kigelia Ruaha is one of the smallest camps in southern Tanzania. Here, the safari experience is traditional and intimate, and the camp offers a natural simplicity right on the doorstep of the bush: just 6 tents sheltered under a thatch roof, fully open to nature, featuring a small outdoor area and an open-air bucket shower. Classic safaris thus go hand in hand with environmental conservation, thanks to a minimised impact! Located in eastern Ruaha, Kigelia camp is set amidst stunning scenic landscapes characterised by ancient baobabs and uniquely balanced granite boulders, where the flora and fauna can be discovered on foot or by 4x4. When evening comes, join the other guests around a warm campfire to share the day's experiences, then take your seat at the large communal table to dine in the company of the kigelias, the majestic sausage trees...

THE EXTRAORDINARY
Ruaha National Park is still relatively unknown and thus offers both an intimate and exciting safari experience. 4x4 excursions will take you across stunning plains dotted with baobabs, sandy rivers, tracts of forest, curious piles of granite boulders... At the heart of this fascinating landscape thrives one of the largest populations of African lions, as well as numerous elephants, a plethora of antelopes and colourful birds. As for the grandiose beauty of the ancient baobabs, it is best appreciated on foot.
ETHICS
Nomad, as well as designing eco-friendly camps, supports numerous projects through its "Nomad Trust" for the conservation of animal species and the sharing of adventure with local communities. In southern Tanzania, Nomad takes part in the Ruaha Carnivore Project, which aims to protect Ruaha's large carnivores, and supports the village of Tungamalenga (educational programmes, medical supplies, environmental awareness, etc.).
