    TREE LODGE, PERCHED IN THE CANOPY

    In the superb Madikwe Reserve, which is home to prolific wildlife over more than 75,000 hectares, lies the wonderful Jaci's Tree Lodge and its 8 treehouses suspended above the ground in a lush canopy. Created by the duo Jan and Jaci, the lodge offers exhilarating safari activities with programmes specially adapted for children. The Madikwe Reserve is one of the very latest park developments in South Africa. Opened in 1991, it covers more than 750 km² of bush north of the small town of Groot Marico to the border with Botswana. The idea was to revitalise a depleted and infertile region, and the gamble paid off! Jaci's Tree Lodge was created in 2002 to complement the original lodge, Jaci's Safari Lodge. Eight splendid thatched villas were thus erected 6 metres above the ground, connected to each other by suspended walkways. A childhood dream nestled in the trees, with a bedroom of stunning ethnic charm, a bathroom with a monumental stone bathtub, and a large terrace floating in the air with a mythical outdoor shower. Jaci's safaris will allow you to commune with nature that has reclaimed its rights!

    The Extraordinary

    Jaci’s Safari Lodge is a lodge with subtle ethnic charm, where the presence of nature is enhanced by terracotta colours and traditional African craftsmanship. Madikwe has also become a renowned conservation area for its white and black rhinos and, most notably, its packs of wild dogs.

    ETHICS

    Jaci’s works closely with local communities. Three excellent initiatives include local employment with the opportunity to become a shareholder in the lodge, a large-scale wastewater recycling scheme to preserve the marshes, and a new waste management project aimed at achieving a recycling rate of 90%.
