    SAFARI LODGE, CLOSER TO THE BUSH

    In the stunning Madikwe Game Reserve, which spans over 75,000 hectares and is home to abundant wildlife, lies the authentic Jaci’s Safari Lodge with its 10 African suites set in the heart of the bush. Created by the duo Jan and Jaci, the lodge offers exhilarating safari activities with programmes specially tailored for children. The Madikwe Reserve is a prime example of the rehabilitation of depleted land in South Africa. Opened in 1991, it covers more than 750 km² of bush in the north of the country near the border with Botswana. Jaci’s Safari Lodge was the first initiative by Jan and Jaci, who established the lodge around a majestic termite mound with views over a waterhole and the Marico River. The buildings have been designed with superb thatched roofs, refined ethnic decor and spacious canvas-walled rooms, creating a reassuring safari atmosphere. The family suites have the advantage of their own small private pool. Jaci’s safaris will make you commune with a nature that has reclaimed its rights.

    Jaci’s Safari Lodge is a lodge with subtle ethnic charm, where the presence of nature is enhanced by terracotta colours and traditional African craftsmanship. Madikwe has also become a renowned conservation area for its white and black rhinos and, most notably, its packs of wild dogs.

    ETHICS

    Jaci’s works closely with local communities. Three excellent initiatives include local employment with the opportunity to become a shareholder in the lodge, a large-scale wastewater recycling scheme to preserve the marshes, and a new waste management project aimed at achieving a recycling rate of 90%.
