The Turtle Inn

At a snail's pace

Francis and Eleanor Coppola acquired this beachfront property in 2001 and transformed it into an idyllic beach hideaway. Twenty-five individual thatched cottages, decorated with handmade Balinese furniture, reflect Francis's affinity for the Asian way of life following the filming of Apocalypse Now. There is no ostentatious luxury, no television, no telephone; the watchword is set: doing nothing on the Caribbean coast... As well as offering an ideal location for diving, Turtle Inn is situated a short bike ride or walk from the charming fishing village of Placencia, where local artisan shops and restaurants can be enjoyed to your heart's content.
